Strong partnership for students
Leon Lewis and Rhysha Brown, final year Integrated Marketing and Communication students at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, receive bursary awards from Bernadette Hutchinson (left), United States (US) Embassy public engagement specialist, and Youlanda Nunes (right), director and chair of the bursary committee of the Jamaica America Friendship Association (JAFA), at a presentation ceremony at the Robeson American Center at the embassy on February 19.
JAFA and the US Embassy aim to foster a strong relationship between the US and Jamaica, and as part of their mandate, the partnership has resulted in providing financial assistance in the form of bursaries to final year students at UWI, University of Technology, and the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.
