Cornwall, William Knibb, and Clarendon lead ISSA Rural U-16 football
Cornwall College scored wins on Monday to move to the top of their quarter-final groups in the ISSA Rural Area Under-14 and Under-16 competitions.
William Knibb Memorial High School and Clarendon College also lead their respective Under-14 and Under-16 groups with one round of games left before the semi-finalists are decided.
Cornwall had been held to 1-1 draws on Friday by Glenmuir High School in the Under-14 competition and by Munro College in the Under-16. They returned on Monday with wins.
The Under-14 team beat Belair High School 4-0 in Montego Bay to go top of Group One on goal difference ahead of Glenmuir, who defeated Rusea’s High School 3-1 in Lucea.
William Knibb Memorial beat Titchfield High School 3-0 on Monday to lead Group Two on four points, the same as Garvey Maceo High School, who edged Manchester High School 2-1 in Mandeville.
Carlondo Morris scored twice as the Cornwall Under-16 team beat Glenmuir 3-0 to move to the top of their group on four points.
Glenmuir are second on three points after their 4-2 win over Old Harbour High School on Friday.
Old Harbour are also on three points after beating Munro on Monday.
Clarendon leads Group Two with four points after a 1-1 draw with Manchester on Monday, following their earlier win over Rusea’s.
Rusea’s, who beat Central High School on Monday, are second on three points, followed by Manchester on two and Central on one point.
