Four teams set for semi-final showdown in 10th Pocket Rocket Foundation six-a-side competition
Legend, Medley Mixers, Zessa and Pals are through to the semi-finals of the 10th Peace Through Sports Six-A-Side Football Competition after a decisive round of quarter-final action last weekend.
The four teams will return to the Red Stripe Sports Complex on Sunday, March 1, where they will battle for a place in the March 8 championship final. Zessa will face Medley Mixers in one semi-final, while Legend take on Pals for the other spot in the final. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 pm, and admission is free to the public.
Zessa advanced with a 2–1 win over Ballspot, while Legends defeated Basement 3–2 and Medley Mixers secured a 2-0 victory against Red Stripe. Pals progressed after a 1–1 draw with Legacy, advancing on penalties to complete the semi-final line-up.
Founder and chairwoman of the foundation Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce said the tournament continues to reflect both the quality of competition and the broader purpose of the initiative.
“The competition has been strong from the start. What stands out most is seeing the players come out each weekend and give their best. This tournament gives them a space to compete, express themselves through football, and represent their communities with pride. The competition has remained intense, and we are looking forward to seeing which teams earn their place in the final,” said Fraser-Pryce.
The winners of Sunday’s matches will advance to the championship final on March 8.
Now in its 10th year, the Peace Through Sports Six-A-Side Football Competition continues to provide a structured and competitive outlet for participating communities, using sport as a platform for engagement and positive development. More than $1 million in cash and prizes, along with the championship trophy, will be at stake as the foundation prepares to crown its 10th champion.
The 2026 staging of the competition is made possible through the support of title sponsor Tank-Weld Group, through its Rymax Lubricants brand, alongside Nike, GraceKennedy, 876 Spring Water, Gatorade, FESGAS, and Sanmerna Paper Products Limited.
