Grand Palladium appoints new general manager
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Andrew Wright has been appointed the new general manager of the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa and Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa.
Wright, who was born in Montego Bay and raised in the parish of Hanover, assumes leadership of the two-hotel complex with more than 15 years of hospitality experience. He studied in Canada before returning to Jamaica to pursue a career in the sector.
In his new role, Wright is expected to oversee operations at the properties and support the group’s growth strategy on the island.
“We are proud to welcome Andrew as general manager of the Grand Palladium complex in Jamaica at a pivotal time of growth for the company,” said Vice President of Operations for the Americas at Palladium Hotel Group, Jesús Zalvidea. “His leadership will strengthen our operational strategy in the region, elevate guest satisfaction and further position our resorts in Jamaica as benchmarks of excellence as we move forward into a new phase of growth and upcoming projects.”
The group, which has operated in Jamaica for nearly two decades, recently announced a US$20 million development project that will add 948 rooms to its Montego Bay portfolio. The expansion will bring the total number of rooms across the two resorts to 1,997.
The project will also introduce the adults-only TRS Hotels brand and the Family Selection at Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts concept, in addition to upgraded amenities and new sustainability features.
Through its corporate social responsibility programme, Palladium Cares, the company has also established training centres in Jamaica aimed at benefiting up to 600 residents annually, supporting workforce development in the hospitality sector.
