Fiona is ‘In The Mood’
As a singer-songwriter, Fiona knows the importance of producing timeless material. She put her all into In The Mood, a six-song EP she recorded with Hopeton Lindo five years ago.
The project, heavy on romance, was reissued on January 23 by Zojak Worldwide, three weeks before Valentine’s Day.
For Fiona, that global day for lovers had no bearing on her thought process.
“Valentine’s Day to me means one day when you go all out for your partner. I know it sounds cliche, but everyday should be Valentine’s Day,” she said.
Fiona wrote one song (Love Won’t Let us Wait) for In The Mood which contains covers of classic songs including Guilty, a monster hit in 1980 for Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb of The Bee Gees.
The singers also put a reggae spin on the Grammy-winning You Don’t Have to Be A Star by the husband and wife act, Billy Davis and Marilyn McCoo. And Yes I’m Ready, originally recorded by Barbara Mason.
Lindo wrote two of the tracks on the EP for his Irie Pen Records — the title song and In Your Eyes. Both are co-produced by Sly and Robbie and Rorey Baker for Taxi Records/One Pop Music.
Fiona, who is originally from West Kingston, has been recording music since she was 17 years-old. As a solo artiste, a cover of Adele’s Hello is her most popular song.
