Flash Motors joins ADA as 1st EV-only dealership
Flash Motors Company Limited (Flash) has become the first electric vehicle (EV) dealership to be accepted into the Automobile Dealers Association (ADA) of Jamaica, underscoring the company’s commitment to ethical conduct, consumer protection, and professional standards.
“Flash is proud to be a member of the ADA, and we welcome the association’s support as we continue to advance electric mobility in Jamaica and the wider region,” said Xavier Gordon, CEO of Flash Motors. “We see this membership as an important step in engaging with public and private sector stakeholders to support responsible, scalable EV adoption.”
The acceptance of an EV dealer into the ADA reflects a progression of the national automotive landscape, one in which electric mobility is no longer viewed as a niche alternative but as an integral part of the industry’s future.
Commenting on Flash Motors’ admission, Jackie Stewart-Lechler, ADA chairman, stated: “The ADA welcomes Flash Motors to the association and applauds its introduction to the Jamaican motoring public of a range of new electric mobility options, backed by vehicle manufacturers and supported by after-sales service. We wish them many years of success.”
Flash Motors has been active in the electric-mobility space since 2021, contributing not only vehicles but also foundational systems during the early stages of EV adoption in Jamaica and across the Caribbean. It has played a direct role in building the region’s EV ecosystem in several markets, including St Lucia and Guyana, and has helped to shape policy, roll out charging infrastructure, and introduce new electric mobility solutions.
Now operating from its New Kingston showroom, Flash Motors has formalised its consumer-facing dealership operations in Jamaica, offering products and services designed to support long-term adoption.
Sales Manager Phillip Oliver noted: “Vehicle sales are only our baseline. We provide customers with their own charging infrastructure and believe in continuous owner education for building confidence in operating electric vehicles. We also ensure that our team is trained by the best. We have sent technicians as far away as China to ensure that our customers have their vehicles maintained to the highest global standards.”
As EVs become an increasingly visible part of the market, Flash Motors’ inclusion in Jamaica’s primary automotive body signals a future where technological progress and professional standards advance together.
