Major firearms and ammunition seizure in Tope Range, Kingston
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A cache of ammunition and homemade guns was discovered by police during an operation on McIntosh Drive in Tope Range, Kingston 3 on Thursday.
Reports from the Half Way Tree Police are that between 4:00 am and 11:00 am, police personnel on operation observed a shopping bag between a tree trunk while searching a premises in the area.
The bag was inspected and revealed one Colt semi-automatic pistol with a magazine affixed containing two .45 cartridges.
A further search was conducted with members of the Canine Division, which yielded four homemade firearms, forty-one 12-gauge cartridges, nine 9mm cartridges, one .40 cartridge, and one .22 mm cartridge.
No arrest was made in relation to the seizure.
