KPH urges participation at World Kidney Day blood drive and health fair

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Kingston Public Hospital has announced it will host a health fair and blood drive next Thursday, March 12, in observance of World Kidney Day.

Organisers say the event, scheduled for 9:00 am at the pharmacy car park, aims to promote kidney health, raise awareness about chronic kidney disease, and provide essential health services to the public.

Attendees will have access to free kidney screenings, blood pressure checks, diabetes testing, health education and counselling, nutritional advice, and guidance on healthy lifestyle choices.

Members of the public are also encouraged to donate blood, contributing to life-saving efforts.

KPH says the initiative is part of the 250th anniversary celebrations of Kingston Public Hospital, which will be officially observed on Monday, December 14, and highlights the institution’s long-standing commitment to healthcare excellence and service to the Jamaican people.

The hospital team is urging the public to participate, get screened, and help save lives.
