Waterhouse, Cavalier score win in rescheduled JPL games
KINGSTON, Jamaica—Waterhouse FC and defending champions Cavalier SC won their rescheduled Jamaica Premier League games on Thursday over Portmore United and Molynes United, respectively.
Waterhouse FC extended their unbeaten run to seven games after edging 10-man Portmore 1-0 at Ferdie Neita Park to avenge their first-round loss.
Cavalier SC also avenged a first-round loss, beating Molynes United 2-1 at Stadium East.
Waterhouse FC improved to fifth place in the standings after Mario Simms scored in the time added at the end of the first round.
Portmore United were reduced to 10 men in the 73rd minute when Romeo Guthrie was sent off.
Sixth-placed Cavalier SC moved four points clear of seventh-placed Dunbeholden FC with their win, thanks to goals from Christopher Ainsworth in the 53rd minute and Daryl Massicot in the 73rd minute.
Nicholas Nelson scored a consolation goal for Molynes United deep into the time added in the second half.
