Manoletti Majestic shines in impressive debut win
Despite a shaky start, Manoletti Majestic’s debut win on Sunday, March 1, 2026, has trainer Peter-John Parsard feeling optimistic about the colt’s chances in the Classic races.
The three-year-old chestnut colt, Manoletti Majestic (Bern Identity – Gentle Officer) with jockey Reyan Lewis in the saddle, easily won by 7 ½ lengths in a maiden special weight event for native-bred three-year-olds over four furlongs (800m). The winning time was 47.3 seconds with splits of 24.1 x 35.3.
Blythwood (Javaniel Patterson) was second with Code Red (Raddesh Roman) ending in the third slot.
“He is very green. I don’t like how he was darting to the outside when the gates were opened and he was running all over the place. But we knew that was going to be the case,” Parsard told the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide.
Parsard praised Manoletti Majestic’s raw talent, saying he’s one of several talented horses at the stables.
“The most important thing was thankfully he was able to get the job done. He is a very talented horse; he is one of quite a few talented horses I think we have at the stables that we will see shortly.
“The most important thing was thankfully he was able to get the job done but we have a lot of hope for him in the bigger races down the line. I am hoping that he can stay sound and come on and learn a little from this and take it from there,” he said.
The trainer revealed that Manoletti Majestic was short of work for this race, but seized the opportunity to run.
“We expected him to be green and we knew he wasn’t ready, but we thought he would be ready enough to win. As long as he takes a forward step from here, we’ll be happy,” said the third-generation trainer.
Parsard’s faith in his team and the horse is clear, and with this win, expectations are high for Manoletti Majestic’s future.
“We have a lot of horses that are going to be running over the next couple of weeks for the stable and so we ended up with a little bit of challenging in terms of picking races for them,” he said, hinting at more success to come.
