Westmoreland burn victim succumbs to injuries
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Observer Online understands that Dacia Forrester, the woman who was set ablaze during a confrontation at a gas station in Whithorn, Westmoreland, has succumbed to her injuries.
Forrester reportedly died Friday morning while undergoing treatment in hospital.
Reports are that, in February, Forrester got into an argument with Collate Swaby, a pump attendant at a gas station in Whithorn, Westmoreland. Forrester was reportedly asked to leave the gas station by the manager.
The 42-year-old allegedly returned with her sister, and the argument escalated, with Swaby telling Forrester to go home. The accused reportedly threatened to douse and light Forrester aflame before making good on the threat.
It is reported that a struggle ensued before Swaby used a lighter to ignite Forrester, resulting in burns to 50 per cent of her body. Swaby was also injured with wounds to the eye and face.

Swaby was charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm following the attack.
