E-Dee keeps momentum with new single ‘She’s Loyal’
Since launching his Clarendon Records in early 2025, deejay/rapper E-Dee has been a busy man. The Los Angeles-based artiste has released a handful of singles and an EP.
His latest song is She’s Loyal, released in February. It is the follow-up to Pretty Girl, Tough Road and We A Rebuild.
While some acts are concerned about flooding the market with songs, E-Dee has a different perspective.
“Releasing four songs in three months has been hugely beneficial for me. It keeps the momentum going, builds buzz in the dancehall and reggae scenes, and lets me connect with fans consistently,” he told Observer Online. “Streaming numbers are up, and it’s helping me expand my audience while staying creative and productive.”
The key for E-Dee is serving something different with each song.
“She’s Loyal represents a shift in vibe and theme compared to Pretty Girl and Touch Road which were more high-energy party anthems. Pretty Girl is an up-tempo, rap-heavy joint celebrating beauty and fun, while Touch Road is a collaborative banger with Edley Shine, Beniton, and Honorebel, focused on hitting the streets and that raw dancehall energy,” he noted.
He continued, “She’s Loyal slows it down a bit, leaning into a smoother, more romantic dancehall sound with lyrics centred on loyalty and real relationships, making it radio-ready and introspective without losing the rhythm.”
We A Rebuild, released in December, was inspired by the carnage in Jamaica caused by Hurricane Melissa, which struck the country last October.
Two months earlier, E-Dee released Grateful, his five-song EP, which contains collaborations with Ginjah and Jah Malo.
From Toll Gate in Clarendon, E-Dee has lived in Los Angeles for over 15 years. He is also an actor who has appeared in movies such as Out The Gate and Temperature Rising.
