Infant dies, child injured as fire rips through Montpelier home
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A six-month-old baby girl has reportedly died as a result of burns she sustained in a fire in Montpelier, St James on Tuesday morning.
The blaze took place in a section of the community called Guinep Tree, where the house, made of boards with a zinc roof, was razed to the ground.
The fire occurred around 1:00 am, and reports indicate another child was injured in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but firefighters are currently on scene conducting investigations.
