Ras-I, Kabaka Pyramid unite on These Are the Days
Acclaimed roots-reggae artiste Ras-I has released a powerful new single These Are the Days, featuring Grammy-winning reggae heavyweight Kabaka Pyramid.
The track delivers the understanding that faith must be matched with action.
Built around the resonant line “prayers alone can’t do it”, the song speaks directly to dreamers, believers, and builders navigating the realities of growth and purpose.
For Ras-I, the release represents a deeply personal moment in his journey.
“This song felt right for this moment because I know that I am on the cusp of something great,” Ras-I shared. “The conversations, the meetings, the acknowledgement leading up to now are things every artiste prays for. But prayers without works won’t do it. We have to apply ourselves.”
These Are the Days draws inspiration from Ras-I’s own upbringing, with the opening line of the chorus reflecting words he and his mother would exchange whenever he reached a milestone in his musical journey. From there, the track developed organically, powered by live instrumentation and grounded roots-reggae sounds.
Kabaka Pyramid’s contribution adds depth and lived experience to the record, reinforcing its central message of discipline and determination.
“I feel like I am a different kind of success story than most,” Kabaka Pyramid said. “I bring my unique journey, challenges, and experiences to the song. It’s about putting in the work and not just relying on faith alone. Collaborations helped me on my journey, so I feel a duty to do the same for the younger generation.”
The collaboration was a natural fit for Ras-I, who sees Kabaka Pyramid’s path as an important example for emerging artistes. “I felt his story is one that should be highlighted so younger artistes can understand the meaning of discipline and determination,” Ras-I noted.
These Are The Days also serves as an early introduction to Ras-I’s upcoming third studio album Heart of Love, slated for release on May 15, 2026. The song is the second to be released from the album that explores love in its many forms. This single focuses on love for music itself, love for the journey, and the inner drive that carries artistes through moments of doubt and challenge.
“When times get heavy, it’s the love for the musical journey and the craft that keeps many of us going,” Ras-I added. “That love is what connects this song to the larger project.”
The song was produced by Koastal King’s Keniel Drumz, who also played drums on the song with Nnamdi Robinson on guitar, Oniel Keys on keyboard, and Joshua Jones on Bass.
These are the Days is available on all major digital streaming platforms.
