Aaron Silk’s Painful Birth tops NY Foundation Radio chart
Reggae recording artiste Aaron Silk’s powerful new single Painful Birth recently topped the New York-based Foundation Radio Top 20 Chart peaking at #2 after an impressive 13-week climb.
“This is truly a joy for me,” said Aaron Silk. “From the energy and intention we poured into Painful Birth we knew it would resonate. The song is a call to action for Jamaicans everywhere to stand against violence affecting our young people.”
Written by Michael Orrett and produced by the Canada-based Tru-Frequency Music,Painful Birth delivers an emotionally charged message. The track reflects the grief, resilience, and hope of mothers who have lost their children to violence, particularly within inner-city communities. Through vivid storytelling, spiritual undertones, and heartfelt expression, the song captures sorrow, questioning, and ultimately, strength and determination.
The Foundation Radio Network Chart is compiled from listener requests across five stations within the network: Linkage Radio, 104.5 FM, Red Hot Radio 102.3 FM, Mix 102FM, and Mix Global Radio, serving audiences in New York, New Jersey, and Miami.
“The support has been tremendous,” said Orrett. “For an independent label like Tru-Frequency Music this achievement confirms that meaningful, message-driven music still matters. We appreciate the listeners who continue to stand with us in pushing positive change.”
Aaron Silk is widely recognised for his hit single Right Path, which held the #1 position in Bermuda, Trinidad, and Canada.
