Faulkland FC and Heights lead Sandals Major League
FORMER champions Faulkland FC made it four straight wins in the St James Football Association/Sandals Resorts International Major League, after hammering Wadadah FC 5-1 in the second game of a double-header played at Jarrett Park on Sunday.
Tavane Kerr and Mikhail Samuels both scored braces for Faulkland FC, who lead Zone A with maximum 12 points, while Heights FC are ahead in Zone B on 10 points after their 3-0 win over Cambridge United in the first game.
Faulkland FC led 1-0 at half-time after Kerr opened the scoring in the fifth minute before Samuels added a second in the 48th minute.
Reiki Brown pulled a goal back for Wadada in the 50th minute but Kerr completed his brace in the 63rd, Darnel Brissett made the scores 4-1 in the 69th and Samuels completed his brace in the 75th.
Heights are also unbeaten after four games and were led by Jevar Maxwell, who scored a double to take his tally on the season to six goals, scoring in the first and 47th minutes while the veteran Allan Ottey added a third in the 80th.
Montego Bay Boys’ Club shrugged off back-to-back loses to beat Lilliput Rovers 4-1 with Junior Morgan scoring a double, with the first goal of the game arriving in the seventh minute and the final one in the 83rd.
Matthew Thorpe scored his second of the season in the 38th minute and Owen Cox also got on the score-sheet in the 54th minute while Reno Edmonson scored Lilliput Rovers’ goal in the 56th.
Bogue United are joint second in Zone B with Boys’ Club after their 1-0 win over MoBay City FC, thanks to a 70th-minute goal from Jaleel Barnett.
