Mr and Miss Medical Sciences participants complete outreach project in St James
Ten finalists are competing for the Mr and Miss Medical Sciences titles at the University of the West Indies on March 28.
The contestants have been engaged in several activities leading up to the coronation.
Last month, some of the contestants, as well as the reigning titleholders, teamed up with the Ministry of Health and Wellness to provide outreach at the Blessed Assurance Children’s Home in St James.
Curtis Clennon is a member of the Faculty of Medical Sciences Guild Council.
“The University of the West Indies Mr and Miss Medical Sciences Gifted Hands Initiative took place on February 21. As per our official duty roster, the reigning Mr and Ms Medical Sciences (2025) endeavoured to fulfil their humanitarian duties as representatives of the Faculty of Medical Sciences by doing an outreach project at this location which has been negatively impacted by the passage of Hurricane Melissa,” Clennon told Observer Online earlier this week.

“We organised this outreach with three objectives in mind, namely, motional upliftment of the residents at the home who have been adversely or otherwise negatively affected by this traumatic experience, reestablishment of a produce garden and tree planting on the premises to aid in environmental restoration, and the creation of a wall mural along with the residents in hopes of encouraging creativity and adding to the beautification of the compound,” he continued.
Clennon added, “We partnered with the reigning Mr and Ms Health and Wellness, Tafari Hylton and Nikisha Harris to carry out this outreach. The trees that were planted were generously donated by the Forestry Department.”
The 10 contestants vying for the Mr and Miss Medical Sciences titles are Davia Chambers, Lucius Harrison, Olivia Green, Ray Clarke, Danae McFarlane, Dajae Forrester, Brianna Letts, Tajmar Hinds, Gabrielle Ellis, and Marcos Ambrister Jr.
