Tourist mowed down in Negril
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — A tourist is currently being treated in hospital for severe injuries sustained after being mowed down by a vehicle in Negril Thursday morning.
Details surrounding the incident, which took place on the West End approximately two hours ago, are not available at this time.
However, Observer Online understands that the tourist received upper and lower body injuries, including a fractured leg, with the bone said to be protruding.
The visitor was rushed to the hospital by the police.
The Negril Fire Department is currently without a working ambulance.
The lack of a working ambulance has been a concern for tourism stakeholders, residents and the Negril Division Councillor, Arthel Colley.
The issue was brought up during the February sitting of the Westmoreland Municipal Corporation’s regular monthly general meeting.
