Jamaica’s Shenese Walker wins 60m title at NCAA Indoor Championships
Jamaican sprinter Shenese Walker of Florida State University (FSU) won the 60m title at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 track and field Indoor Championships at the Tyson Sports Complex at the University of Arkansas on Saturday.
The FSU senior won in 7.08 seconds to win the event ahead of University of Georgia freshman and British Virgin Islands starlet Adaejah Hodge, who was second in 7.15 seconds, the same time as third-placed Victoria Cameron of Tarleton State.
Walker had run a personal best 7.07 seconds in Friday’s preliminaries, improving on her Florida State programme record.
The time was also the fastest in the NCAAs so far this year.
