Supernatural Power, Funcaandun go head to head at Caymanas Park
THIS afternoon’s $1.4-million Alexander Hamilton Memorial Trophy feature race promises to be a thrilling contest, and with two talented foreigners, Supernatural Power
and Funcaandun, going head to head over seven furlongs (1,400m), it’s anyone’s game.
The last time these two clashed was in 2025’s Mouttet Mile race when Funccandun finished third by 9¼ lengths behind winner Runallday and Legacy Isle while Supernatural Power finished fourth by 9¾ lengths in the one-mile (1,600m) event.
But with the distance for today’s contest shortened, expect a different story. Supernatural Power, trained by many-time champion Philip Feany, brings the speed and could slip Funcaandun when it matters most.
Funcaandun brings a wealth of knowledge and a winning mentality to this race, with 10 wins from 18 starts to Supernatural Power’s six wins from 10 starts. Funcaandun’s hard-knocking style and strong finishing ability make him a real threat to Supernatural Power.
Looking at the other runners in the field, no one has the talent and class of Supernatural Power and
Funcaandun, and it would be difficult to imagine competitor splitting them at the wire.
The Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward is positioned as the eighth event on the 10-race card with a post time of 4:20 pm. First race is at 11:45 am.
