Woman claims she was assaulted by father son
MONTEGO BAY, St James — A woman’s claim of assault took centre stage at the St James Parish Court on Wednesday as Andrew Leslie and his son Eddie Leslie faced Judge Natiesha Fairclough-Hylton over a series of allegations.
The case traces back to November 9, 2025, in Norwood, St James. The complainant claims she was outside her home speaking with her partner about a conversation in which Eddie had allegedly threatened her. The court heard that Eddie reportedly overheard the discussion and angrily told her to stop calling his name.
The situation quickly escalated. The complainant attempted to walk away, but Eddie allegedly pursued her, warning, “If I cannot live here then neither can you and a bet seh yuh caan come back down yah. So for the rest of the day, watch weh yuh a do.”
According to court documents, Eddie then advanced toward the complainant, wielding a machete, striking her on the upper arm, right shoulder, and right side — injuries that reportedly caused swelling and bruising.
Andrew reportedly intervened, pulling his son away and allowing the complainant to continue on her way home. But the alleged violence did not end there. The court heard that Andrew then threw a stone, hitting the complainant in the head, and followed up by throwing a full tin of Supligen, which struck her back, leaving pain and swelling.
The court was told that, fearing for her safety, the complainant secured her home before reporting the incident to the police.
Both Andrew and Eddie Leslie were subsequently arrested and charged.
The court was informed that the medical certificate documenting the complainant’s injuries is still outstanding.
Judge Fairclough-Hylton set the matter for mention on March 25 and extended bail for both men.
