SheLeads second staging to spotlight entrepreneurship and innovation
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Entrepreneurs and students of the Northern Caribbean University (NCU) main campus are set to convene for the second staging of the SheLeads forum, under the theme ‘Empowering Her Odyssey Through Entrepreneurship,’ which will shift the spotlight to entrepreneurship and innovation.
The panelists for the evening include Jénine Shepherd, Letesha Whyte, Amanda Samuels, and Nyoka Manning, all young women who have thriving businesses. The series host, Patrice Kissoon also capitalises on her skillset as a service . SheLeads is set for Tuesday, March 17 at 5pm at Robinson Hall, Lecture Theatre.
Sheleads, the series, is dedicated to empowering young women through mentorship and leadership training with the goal of inspiring young ladies at NCU and beyond to harness their skills, creativity, and vision in building businesses, startups, and solutions that impact society.
It is one of three flagship programmes of The Roundtable Foundation, powered by the Careers and Employment Services department at NCU to promote youth engagement in civic matters through three main programs:
– She Leads – empowering women through mentorship and leadership training;
– He Leads – focusing on positive masculinity and responsible leadership for men; and
– We Lead – platform for collaboration among students and changemakers to develop solutions and skills.
It seeks to create and set the tone for a space that allows for co- mentoring, dialogue and empowerment among young people.
Building on the success of last year’s forum which saw panelists sharing their wisdom, experiences and insights on leadership, growth and breaking barriers, this year’s staging promises to bring a fresh start to the conversation around entrepreneurship.
The event is sponsored by DBC Creative Co, The PR Dude, Monica’s Expressions, The Short One Productions (TSO), NICHE Media, The Rentorama, Morris Entrepreneurship Center, and Prestige Phone Accessories.
