Man feared dead after vehicle plunges into Rio Cobre
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A man is presumed dead after the vehicle he was driving veered off a section of the road leading to the Flat Bridge and plunged into the Rio Cobre in St Catherine on Monday night.
The Bog Walk police confirmed the incident happened on Monday when a Toyota Hiace motor truck swerved to avoid another vehicle and plummeted into the river.
“No body was found, the facts surrounding the incident are that a driver was heading from Bog Walk to Spanish Town, when upon reaching a section of the roadway, a motor vehicle swung into his path, he swerved right to avoid an accident which caused him to overturn into the river,” a representative of the Corporate Communications Unit, told Observer Online.
