Royal Food Festival bats for charities
Organisers of Royal Food Festival — being held by the Royal Lodge — say that the event will feature a combination of gastronomical and musical delight.
It is slated for March 21 at Afresh Marketplace, 14-16 Worthington Avenue, New Kingston.
“We are most looking forward to the special cuisines being offered which will allow patrons to experience foods/tastes from different regions of the world. Preparations have been coming along smoothly given that we significant experience having hosted this event for many years,” co-organiser Courtney Sylvester told the Jamaica Observer.
The other organisers, who are also members of the Royal Lodge, include Evroy Johnson, Steven Cross, Gary Walters, and Dwight Ramsay.
Entertainment will be provided by Renaissance and DJ Omar C with MC Marlon Campbell.
“MC Marlon Campbell is always very engaging, entertaining, and comedic, and the top DJs have reputations of being able to rock the crowd,” Sylvester shared.
There will be three food stations featuring Chinese, Indian, and Jamaican cuisine.
Gates open at 6:00 pm with the event running until midnight.
The charities that will benefit are from proceeds include Golden Age Home, Annie Dawson Home for Children, Mustard Seed – Sophie’s Place, Shady Grove Basic School, Best Care Special Education School, Simon’s Basic School Feeding Programme, Jamaica Cancer Society, Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA), and Jamaica Autism Support Association.
