15-y-o in custody after fatal stabbing in St Mary

ST MARY, Jamaica — A 15-year-old is now in police custody following the fatal stabbing of 21-year-old Javarntai Taitam from Belfield, St Mary.

The incident occurred around 9:00 am on Friday and reportedly stemmed from an argument between the two, which escalated into a physical confrontation.

During the altercation, the teenager allegedly pulled out a pair of scissors and stabbed Taitam multiple times.

Taitam was transported to the Annotto Bay Hospital by a motorist, but he was later pronounced dead.

This marks the fourth murder in the parish this year. The St Mary Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating.
