KINGSTON, Jamaica — Kishane Thompson ran a personal best 6.45 seconds to take silver in the men’s 60m on Friday’s opening day of the World Athletics Indoor Championships at Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena in Toruń, Poland.

Bryan Levell, the second Jamaican in the race, slowed down after about 30 metres and crossed the line in 7.69 seconds in seventh place.
American Jordan Anthony created an upset when he won the gold medal in a world-leading 6.41 seconds, while his compatriot Trayvon Bromell was third in 6.45 seconds, the same time as Thompson.
