Three Jamaican men advance to 60m semis at World Indoors
All three Jamaicans advanced to the semi-finals of the men’s 60m dash as the World Athletics Indoor Championships got underway at Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena in Toruń, Poland on Friday.
Bryan Levell, Kishane Thompson and Ackeem Blake, winner of the World Indoor Tour series, all won their respective first round heats and advanced to the semi-finals set for the second session, also on Friday.
Levell clocked 6.53 seconds, third best overall and the same time given to Belgium’s Simon Verherstraeten; Thompson ran 6.56 seconds; and Blake, who won the bronze medal two years ago in Glasgow, was timed in 6.59 seconds, just beating Claude Itoungue Bogognie of the Cameroon in his race.
American Trevon Bromell led all qualifiers with 6.52 seconds.
