World Indoors: Reheem Hayles advances to 400m semis
Reheem Hayles booked his place in the semi-finals of the men’s 400m after he placed second in his opening round on the first morning of the World Athletics Indoor Championships at Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena in Toruń, Poland on Friday.
Hayles ran 46.66 seconds for second behind American Chris Robinson who won with 46.34 seconds as both men booked automatic spots to the semi-finals set for later in the day.
Despite running a lifetime indoor best 47.02 seconds, Delano Kennedy failed to advance as he was third in his opening round race.
Kennedy had originally finished fourth but France’s Muhammad Abdallah Kounta, who had crossed the finish line first, was disqualified for a lane violation.
