Students struggle as parish library Internet lags
Dear Claudienne
Belated Happy New Year to you and all the staff of the Jamaica Observer.
There are many students and people who do not have computers and are dependent on the parish lbrary’s computer service.
But since Hurricane Melissa there has been no Internet service at the St James Parish Library and the many students and people who used the computers are anxiously awaiting the return of the service.
Internet service has by now been returned to most of the businesses in Montego Bay and the Jamaica Postal Service and the St James Parish Court that are located right across the road from the parish library also have Internet service. I was told that the management of the parish library have reported the matter to Flow but the Internet service still has not been restored. I have also personally written to Flow explaining the situation but I have got no response from the company.
I am hoping that you can help to get Flow to quickly address the matter.
UC
Dear UC
Tell Claudienne communicated your concern to Flow and you have informed the column that Internet service is again available at the St James Parish Library.
In a March 15 email you wrote : “That service at the St James Parish Library is back but the Internet speed is still slow. I hope that in a few weeks the Internet speed will be back to normal. So thank you once again.”
We wish you all the best.
