World Indoors: Megan Simmonds runs PB to book spot in 60m hurdles final

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Megan Simmonds ran a personal best 7.82 seconds to book her lane in the final of the women’s 60m hurdles on Sunday’s third and final day of the World Athletics Indoor Championships at Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena in Toruń, Poland.

The Olympic Games bronze medallist was second in her semi-final race behind Nadine Visser of the Netherlands who was given the same time.

Simmonds who had won her first round race in the morning session with 7.89 seconds, broke her previous personal best of 7.88 seconds set earlier this year, and ties Britney Anderson as the fifth fastest Jamaican in the event.
