#Champs2026: Holmwood lead girls Class 2 and 3 400m qualifying

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Annastacia Hall and Malya McLennon of Holmwood Technical led the qualifiers into the semi-finals of the girls Class 2 and 3 400m after the preliminaries that were contested on Tuesday’s first day of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

Hall won her first round heat in the Class 2 qualifier with 54.56 seconds, with her teammate Maddison Campbell also advancing to Wednesday’s semi-finals with 54.88 seconds.

Foga Road High’s Shameika McLean ran 54.78 seconds, with Immaculate Conception’s Kimberly Wright running 55.36 seconds, followed by William Knibb Memorial’s Daniellia Dixon in 55.47 seconds, Edwin Allen’s Khaklila Lewis-Satchwell in 55.54 seconds, and Hydel High’s Sashana Johnson in 55.93 seconds.

McLennon ran 56.02 seconds to lead the Class 3 semi-finalists and will be joined by her teammate Tianna Blair, who ran 57.36 seconds.

Sha-Jay Davis of Convent of Mercy Alpha Academy qualified with 56.64 seconds ahead of the Hydel High pair of Shaneil Henry in 56.70 seconds and Tyecia McDonald in 56.93 seconds, while Knox College’s Tawauna Marston also advanced with 56.88 seconds.
