Carty was thrown from the bike with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office confirming she was not wearing a helmet.
The 47-year-old was an experienced motorcyclist, with her last post on Facebook sharing a throwback to her second motorcycle in 2007.
“I had a 600 Ninja for two years before this and I have no pictures of it anywhere. #Crazy I ain’t new to this,” she shared in the post.
Carty would routinely share videos of her riding in the United States, which she emigrated to from Hanover. Her Facebook comments on Tuesday were filled with users sharing condolences upon learning of her death.
Carty, the mind behind the Facebook Group “Jamaican Madhouse” told the Jamaica Gleaner in 2017 her life was dedicated to helping others.
Through the group, she raised funding and support, which allowed her to assist critically ill Jamaicans and to feed hundreds locally.
