Vybz Kartel’s SYM takes over Florida Reggae and Dancehall chart
DJ Mac’s enigmatic WYFL rhythm continues to drive hits, and one of the hits is Vybz Kartel’s SYM, which has topped the Voice of the Caribbean’s Florida Reggae and Dancehall Top 20 Radio Singles chart.
SYM removed What I Like by Moliy, Tyga and Ayetian from the #1 spot, sending the song down to #2.
Elsewhere on the chart, At We Feet by Protoje, featuring Damian Marley, moves up three places to #3, while Feel So Alive, a former chart-topper by Maxi Priest and Sean Paul, dips to #4.
Tease Har 2.0 by Anthony B, another track from the WYFL rhythm, moves up from #7 to #5.
WYFL rhythm’s breakout hit WYFL by Skippa, rises from #15 to #12.
Over on the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart, Wheel and Come Again by SkyStar spends another week at #1, while Show Us the Way by Eddie Bullen, featuring Kandice K.A.S.H, Tasha T, and Mel Dube, remains at #2.
Forevermore by Jurney Star holds steady at #3, while Student of a Broken Heart by Exco Levi inches up to #4. Elaine Shepherd’s
Shine dips to #5, while Steele’s Yesterday Once More enters at #10.
Protect Us by I-Noah spends a second week at the #1 spot on the Reggae North Canadian Top 20 Reggae chart, with I’ll Be Your King by Akustix holding at #2.
Nah Cheat by Iley Dread inches up to #3, Feels Like a Movie by Celena moves into the #4 spot, while Fathers by Onique is at #5.
Ten Foot Wall by Tasha T steps up from #20 to #18, while Thinking About You by Shanseea Danica Brown makes its debut at #20.
Shaggy’s Boom Body, featuring Akon and Aidonia, remains at #1 on the New York Reggae chart for a third week. Meanwhile, Don’t Have to Ask by Christopher Martin (#29) and Have a Little Faith by Willie Stewart & Friends (#30) make their débuts on the chart.
Meanwhile, veteran singer AJ Brown takes over the #1 spot on the South Florida Reggae chart with Dancehall Ball. Caah Believe by Chezidek moves from #11 to #8, and Nadine Sutherland’s Niceness bullets from #12 to #10.
Sean Paul and Keyshia Cole’s (When You Gonna) Give it Up to Me continues to make moves on global charts. On Billboard’s Global 200, the song leaps from #59 to #52, while on Global 200 Excluding US it rockets from #47 to #35. However, it slips from #30 to #31 on the UK Singles chart.
Bob Marley and the Wailers log 323 non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart with Legend, while Sean Paul’s The Trinity re-enters at #3 and Kaya by Bob Marley and the Wailers returns to the chart at #10.
