KINGSTON, Jamaica — Clarendon College’s Jamelia Young won her second gold medal at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships in style on Friday, throwing 48.40m to break the Girls Class 2 discus throw record despite feeling discomfort in her throwing hand.
After winning the shot put record on Wednesday, Young shattered Cedricka Williams’ 47.04m set in 2021, and improved on her own previous best of 46.89m set in February.
The record mark was set in the fourth round and moved her up from fifth place.
