#Champs2026: Clarendon College’s Lampart makes amends in girls Class 1 shot put
KINGSTON, Jamaica — National Junior record holder Marla-Kay Lampart of Clarendon College made amends for last year’s abysmal performance in the girls Class 1 shot put with a big performance of 14.07m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
Lampart, who was expected to win last year, finished fifth but came back strong in her final year of high school and led from the first round.
Excelsior High’s Katie Gordon was second with 12.75m and Gabriel Merchant of Vere Tech was third with 12.59m.
