#Champs2026: Santino Distin retains boys Class 1 high jump
KINGSTON, Jamaica — New school, new uniform, but it was the same Santino Distin who won the boys Class 1 high jump title in back-to-back years, with the same mark of 2.05m on Saturday’s final day of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
Last year, Distin represented Herbert Morrison Technical but transferred to St Elizabeth Technical this year and continued his success.
Distin, the 2025 national junior champion, had one failure at 1.95m before clearing 2.00m and 2.05m on his first attempt before failing at 2.08m.
The Kingston College pair of Tejahni Haynes and Michael Neil took the silver and bronze medals respectively, also with 2.05m.
