#Champs2026: Third gold medal for Hydel’s Zavien Bernard
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Another day, another gold medal for Hydel High’s Zavien Bernard as she won the girls Class 2 high jump with 1.76m on Saturday’s final day of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
On Thursday, Bernard won the gold medal in the long jump with 5.63m and returned on Friday to win the triple jump Open after a dramatic final round.
On Saturday, Bernard dominated the high jump, carrying the first five heights on her first try before clearing 1.76m on her second attempt.
Malia Housen of Mt Alvernia High was second with 1.73m and Sackoya Palmer of St Mary High third with 1.70m.
