Money Market hits jackpot in Gregory Park Sprint Trophy
Money Market took advantage of the sloppy conditions to secure an easy win in the second running of the $1.4-million Gregory Park Sprint Trophy at Caymanas Park on Saturday.
Trained by Gary Subratie and ridden by Dane Dawkins, Money Market trailed She’s That Girl (Tajay Suckoo) early but surged in the stretch to win by two and a half lengths. She’s That Girl held on for second, ahead of Zulu Warrior (Tyrese Anderson) in third.
Money Market’s time for the five-furlong (1,000m) round Open Allowance contest was 1:00.2 minutes.
Money Market was one of four winners on the day for Dawkins. The others were Olivia D’Oro and Feeling Free for trainer Peter-John Parsard in the first and ninth races, respectively, and Emperorofthecats for owner-trainer Oral Hayden in the seventh race.
In addition to Olivia D’Oro and Feeling Free, Parsard also saddled Boss Man (Omar Walker) in the second race for three winners on the day.
Racing continues today.
