WATCH: Warm welcome for Shanoya Douglas at Holland High after Champs victory

TRELAWNY, Jamaica — It was a rousing welcome for junior sprinter Shanoya Douglas at Holland High School in Trelawny on Monday morning following her impressive performance at the 2026 ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships.

Douglas became the fourth-fastest ever Jamaican junior last week after running a personal best and world-leading 10.98 seconds (0.7m/s) to win the girls Class 1 100m at the championships.

She further established herself among the best junior female sprinters after she broke the national Under-20 200m record on Saturday with a magnificent 22.36 seconds (-1.6m/s) to win the girls Class 1 gold medal.

Douglas was welcomed at her school by cheering teachers, students, family members and friends.
