Gas prices, diesel up $4.50 as Middle East war continues to take effect
KINGSTON, Jamaica — As tensions in the Middle East continue and oil prices remain above seasonal averages, local fuel costs have increased yet another week.
Based on the latest ex-refinery figures from Petrojam, motorists will face higher prices at the pumps effective Thursday, April 2.
With both grades of gasoline up by $4.50, 90-octane will be sold for $179.83 per litre, while 87-octane will be sold for $172.38.
Automotive diesel fuel will be sold for $184.75 per litre after an increase of $4.50, and ultra-low sulphur diesel will be sold for $191.60 per litre, also up $4.50.
Kerosene increased by $4.50 and will be sold for $174.15 per litre.
Propane liquid petroleum will be sold for $80.36 per litre, up $0.25, and butane liquid petroleum will be sold for $89.08 per litre, up $0.25.
Marketing companies and retailers will add their respective markups to these prices.
