City looks to add FA Cup to League Cup glory vs Liverpool

Having gone without any silverware in 2025, Manchester City were back in the winners enclosure when they defeated Arsenal in the League Cup Final before the international break. Now they host Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final as they look to add another trophy to their cabinet this season.

Event # 1 –FA Cup– Man. City vs Liverpool– 6:45AM

Manchester City and Liverpool will go head to head in the FA Cup quarter-finals at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday as the Blues continue their quest for another trophy, having beaten Arsenal in the League Cup final before the recent international break. Indeed, Man City will be aiming to earn a spot in the semi-final for the eighth year in a row with a win over the struggling defending Premier League champions. However, similar to their opponents Liverpool, Manchester City has been struggling this season when compared to the high standard they have set for themselves. The Blues, Man City, have won just one of their previous five overall matches in all competitions and that run had seen them being dumped out of the Champions League by Real Madrid, but the League Cup win over Arsenal would have increased confidence in the camp ahead of Liverpool’s visit.

Liverpool has been having one of their worst-ever Premier League campaigns, especially as the defending champions, as they currently sit outside of the European spots and will struggle to secure a spot in Europe for next season. However, they did beat Galatasaray 5-0 on aggregate to secure a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals, but that 4-0 win at home against Galatasaray was their only win in their last four matches in all competitions. Indeed, Liverpool has lost three of their last four away games in all competitions, with the 1-3 win against Wolves in the FA Cup fifth round, their only away win in the last month. Having lost to City twice already this season, Liverpool is aware that they will have to be at their best to secure a win against opponents that have beaten them twice so far this season, and are coming off a cup win against the league leaders Arsenal.

Key Stats

● Man City has won eight of their last nine matches in the FA Cup while scoring at least two goals in each of those games.

● Liverpool has won six of their last eight FA Cup matches while scoring over 2.5 goals in each of those games during that run.

● Both sides – Man City have beaten Liverpool twice already this season in the Premier league.

The betting tip. Man City win.

Event # Spain– Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona– 2:00PM

Fourth-placed Atletico Madrid hosts league leaders Barcelona in another fascinating clash on Saturday at home. Atletico enter this match off the back of a disappointing 2-3 defeat away to city rivals Real Madrid before the last international break. However, Atletico Madrid’s recent form has been impressive, having won four of their last five domestic matches, with the only blemish being the defeat to Real Madrid during this impressive run. But when you take all competitions into account, their record becomes slightly more concerning, with three wins and two defeats in their most recent matches. With that said, Atletico Madrid will take confidence from the last time they host Barcelona at home in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, they hammered the Catalans 4-0 in one of their more dominant display this season.

Barcelona arrives at the Metropolitano in exceptional form, having defeated Ray Vallecano 1-0 in their previous match before the March international break. That win made it 24 from their last 25 overall matches. Indeed, they enter this game having won four and drawn one of their last five overall matches. However, they have won their last five matches in La Liga. Away from home, the Catalan giants could be challenged by Atletico Madrid as they have won four but lost two of their last six away games, including a big 4-0 defeat at their upcoming opponents. But since the defeat in the Copa del Rey competition to Atletico, Barcelona have beaten them twice, 3-1 and 4-2, respectively, to put their most recent head-to-head meetings at seven wins, one loss, and two draws.

Key Stats

• Atletico Madrid has won four of their last five overall matches, including their last two at home.

• Barcelona unbeaten in their 15 matches in the league and have won 24 of their 29 league matches played so far.

• Both sides – The recent head-to-head meetings between both these sides has been dominated by Barcelona with four wins from their last five overall matches.

The betting tip. Barcelona win.
