Flood waters affect residents in Amity Hall
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Heavy rainfall on Sunday triggered flooding in parts of St James, leaving several areas submerged.
In Amity Hall, located in the Lottery area, flood waters entered multiple homes, bringing with them mud and debris.
Residents described the ordeal as harrowing, especially as they are still recovering from the impact of Hurricane Melissa last October.
According to residents, fallen trees and debris obstructed a section of the Montego River, causing it to overflow its banks. They are now calling for urgent action to address the issue, fearing a repeat of the situation.
