One of the many potholes on Spanish Town Road (Karl Mclarty)

Maintenance is key
Dear Editor,
Whatever you acquire in life and do not maintain will become a problem. Whether it is a house, motor car, or appliance, you have to do proper maintenance.
Why then do we spend billion of dollars building roads, most times without drainage, and do not properly maintain them?
I wondered recently if Hurricane Melissa 2.0 had come like a thief in the night and battered our roads as so many are like obstacle courses.
The people, a country’s best asset, deserve better. Let us not only fill potholes, but build roads with proper drainage that will serve us longer.
Over to you, Minister Robert Morgan.
