Popeye Caution building with Freshadan
UNITED States-based Jamaican recording artiste Popeye Caution has upped the ante with the release of Freshadan
.
Produced by Khalfani, the track was released on March 25.
“The feedback has been positive so far. A lot of people have connected with the vibe, which means a lot to me. I’m definitely pleased with how it’s being received, but I also see it as motivation to keep improving and building on this momentum,” Popeye Caution told the Jamaica Observer.
Popeye Caution is well known for collabs such as Bezerk, and Good Ting Dem featuring Ding Dong.
For his latest track he is eyeing more global recognition.
“Ultimately, I hope to see it as a worldwide dancehall hit, but the impact is what matters most,” he said.
Popeye Caution (real name Marlon Reid) was born in Kingston but migrated to the United States at an early age. He has been recording professionally since 2010.
The deejay has a solid plan in place for his career this year.
“This year my goal is to stay consistent with releasing music and [to] grow my audience. I want to collaborate more, build a stronger connection with listeners, and perform live when possible, and to be the next breakout artiste in 2026,” he said.
Added the entertainer: “I’ve got a collab that I’m working on in Belgium with some really talented artistes. I will also perform on one of the biggest concerts in Miami Florida, ‘Best of the Best’, in May of this year.”
