Rideallday appears unbeatable in Ian Levy Cup
Rideallday, the reigning Mouttet Mile champion and current Horse of the Year, is the standout contender in this afternoon’s Ian Levy Cup going eight and a half furlongs (1,700m) at Caymanas Park.
Making his seasonal debut, he’s looking to add another win to his impressive resume, which already boasts eight victories and two second-place finishes from 10 starts.
The Ian Levy Cup is a significant event, with a $4-million purse and a “Win and You’re In” spot for this year’s Mouttet Mile up for grabs. The top four finishers will also earn points toward securing a spot in the prestigious Mouttet Mile.
Rideallday’s prep work has been solid, with a strong gallop of seven furlongs in 1:23.3 on March 30, indicating he’s in top form. Given his pedigree and current momentum, it’s tough to see any of his rivals taking him down, making him a top pick for the feature race. Ian Spence is to return to the saddle aboard the Philip Feanny-conditioned Rideallday.
The contest is positioned as the ninth event on the 10-race card with a post time of 5:00 pm. First race is to get off at 11:45 am.
Barnaby, last year’s winner of this race, Funcaandun, and Supernatural Power are the likely runners to battle for second place here.
