All eyes on Taylor Made, We Jammin at Caymanas today
As the Road to the Triple Crown continues at Caymanas Park today, the spotlight is on Taylor Made and We Jammin, with both horses poised to stamp their authority in the Thornbird and Prince Consort Stakes, respectively.
Taylor Made, trained by Jason DaCosta, will face eight other fillies in the Thornbird Stakes, while We Jammin, trained by Peter-John Parsard, takes on 12 colts and geldings in the Prince Consort Stakes. Both Graded Stakes races will run over seven furlongs (1,400m) for similar purses of $1.75 million.
Taylor Made, a three-year-old grey filly by Aveenu Malcainu – Another Fury, was an impressive three and three quarter-length winner of the Hotline Stakes (six furlongs/1,200m) in March 21. Taylor Made has been working well and is expected to lead home rivals here, making her a strong contender. She has galloped six furlongs in 1:16.2 with five furlongs (1000m) done in 1:02.2 on Friday, April 3.
Giving Thanks, Dream Catcher, and Another Wow should give Taylor Made most to do here.
Giving Thanks had a bad start in the Hotline Stakes, but recovered well to finish third behind Taylor Made. However, with a better start this time, Giving Thanks could be more competitive and challenge the front-runners.
Dream Catcher ran a brave race to finish second behind stablemate Taylor Made in the Hotline Stakes. With distance out of the question, Dream Catcher is expected to run well once again. She has also worked really well for this race, having galloped five and a half furlongs (1,100m) in 1:08.2 with five furlongs coming in 1:02.2 on Friday, April 3.
The Anthony Nunes-trained Another Wow was an easy winner of eight and a half lengths going six and a half furlongs (1,300m). Another Wow is going to appreciate this extended journey and could be on premises when the race is being decided.
The Thornbird Stakes is positioned as the seventh event on the 10-race card with a post time of 3:45 pm.
Champion Two-Year-Old from last season We Jammin, on paper looks the horse to beat. We Jammin stepped up to take on older horses and finished second behind American Aviator over seven furlongs on March 1.
We Jammin has already stomped his class when winning the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes in December 2025. He is expected to lead home rivals here. He has the pedigree and form to dominate.
His main rivals are Salute The Don, Dashallday, and Fernando.
Salute The Don was an easy eight-length winner in the Sir Howard Stakes over six furlongs on March 21. Salute The Don finished second behind We Jammin in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes last December but is talented enough to turn the tables here.
Dashallday finished a disappointed fourth in the recent Sir Howard Stakes run. Dashallday, with the distance increased, is expected to run much improved race here and could be one of the top contenders here.
Fernando came from behind to beat Any Means at six furlongs on January 24. Fernando should enjoy the distance and have a strong finish, could sneak into the mix.
