Frazsiers Whip beat Los Perfectos to stay perfect
DEFENDING champions Frazsiers Whip came from a goal down to beat Los Perfectos 2-1 in their Jamaica Women’s Premier League Zone B game at Brooks Park on Saturday, maintaining their perfect record.
Frazsiers Whip extended their winning run to six straight games and moved to 18 points, while Federal United drew level on points with Los Perfectos after beating Real MoBay AFC 3-1 at Prison Oval.
Arnett Gardens continued to lead Zone A after beating Real Mona 5-2 at Alpha Institute, with Shikira Douglas scoring four times.
At Brooks Park, Venicia Reid gave Los Perfectos the lead in the 33rd minute with her 10th goal of the season. Frazsiers Whip levelled through Shanel Spence in the 55th minute, also her 10th goal of the campaign, before Christine Duncan scored the winner in the 66th minute.
Federal United FC made it three straight wins, defeating Real MoBay AFC for the second time this season. Yasheka Lewis scored a second-half brace to secure the victory after the game had been level at half-time.
Janique Ferguson gave Federal United FC the lead in the 11th minute but Janielle White equalised for Real MoBay AFC in the 33rd as the teams went into the break 1-1. Lewis restored Federal United FC’s advantage in the 51st minute before adding her second and her side’s third in the 78th minute.
Douglas was in inspired form for Arnett Gardens FC, opening the scoring in the 14th minute with a back-heel finish at the near post before doubling the lead in the 49th minute and completing her hat-trick a minute later.
Olivia Ashbourne scored twice for Real Mona FC, pulling one back from the penalty spot in the 57th minute, but Douglas immediately restored Arnett Gardens FC’s three-goal cushion with her fourth of the match. An own goal in the 85th minute extended Arnett Gardens FC’s lead to 5-1 before Ashbourne added a second in stoppage time.
In Zone A action at Alpha Institute, Cavalier SC came from a goal down to defeat UWI Women FC 2-1. Nathania Morris gave UWI Women FC the lead from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute, but Cavalier SC responded quickly through Tatyana Polack who equalised in the 36th minute before scoring the winner two minutes later.
In the other match, WiFi United edged Proven Girls 1-0 at Carder Park, with Tashell Davis scoring the only goal of the game in the fourth minute.
