Mt Pleasant’s Peter Gould steps down from PFJL Finance Commitee
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Chairman of Mt Pleasant FA, Peter Gould, has stepped down with immediate effect from the Finance Committee of Professional Football Jamaica Limited, the Observer Online has been reliably informed.
Reports are that Gould who was away from the island last week advised members of the committee via a post in a social media chat group.
Gould’s resignation follows a few days after former chairman Yoni Epstein, chairman of Montego Bay United, tendered his resignation citing “troubling” payment practices by the board.
Epstein said in his resignation letter that the board ignored suggestions from the committee by making financial disbursements to JPL clubs rather than making payments to creditors.
As a result, Observer Online has also heard that the streaming services that have been broadcasting live JPL games has also withdrawn its services for Sunday’s 33rd round of matches.
