Samantha Hall throws discus personal best in Oklahoma
WORLD Athletics Championships finalist Samantha Hall threw a massive personal best 66.39m to place sixth in the women’s discus A at the 2026 Oklahoma Throws Series Worlds Invitational at Millican Field in Ramona, Oklahoma, on Saturday.
Hall, who was 12th at last year’s World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, beat her previous best 64.97m that she set at the same venue last year. That effort had qualified her for the World Athletics Championships.
Her latest mark on United States soil moves her closer to Shadae Lawrence’s national record of 67.05m set in 2021.
Also on Saturday, national record holder Rajindra Campbell, one of four Jamaicans who are in the process of transferring allegiance to Turkey, was second in the men’s shot put with 20.75m. He finished behind American Roger Steen who won with 21.77m.
On Friday, Olympic Games record holder Roje Stona, another Jamaican transferring to the European country, set a new personal best 70.66m for fifth in the men’s discus throw.
That mark beat the 70.17m he threw at Millican Field in August last year.
Chad Wright had a season’s best 64.74m in another discus competition at Millican Field on Friday.
National men’s javelin throw record holder Elvis Graham was second in the men’s event on Friday with 72.49m.
