Closing the Perfect Deal
It was, in a nutshell, one of those absolutely made-for-the big-screen types of enchanting weddings. Music insider Dino Delvaille wed financier cum make-up and wardrobe consultant Lindsay Stuart at the elegant Half Moon Hotel, Montego Bay. The memorable ceremony took place on Saturday, June 26, at the Lily Pond Gazebo, followed by a cocktail hour and reception at the Royal Pavilion.
The theme of the wedding, a Jamaican vintage garden wedding, was conceptualised by the bride. ” I saw a 1930s-inspired garden picture and sent my ideas to Half Moon hotel wedding planner Shanoya Watson and event stylist Paulette Henry. We communicated on a regular basis via e-mails, phone calls and fax.”
The vision became a reality as guests stepped on to perfectly manicured lawns in an eclectic mix of eggplant purple, white and red, in what would become an easy-going garden wedding.
Vintage Styling
The groom, Dino Delvaille, was dapper in an off-white tux and Converse ‘chucks’. His groomsmen styled alongside him in black tuxedos, also with Converse ‘chucks’. The bride’s six bridesmaids wore purple cocktail dresses with red pumps. Her two sisters Peta-Gaye and Rachel were co-maids-of-honour.
Here comes the bride…
Lindsay, on the arm of her father Peter, was stunning in a San Patrick 1964 creation, with the neckline cut by the bride and trimmings and embellishment added to make the dress one-of-a kind. There was atop her head a vintage-inspired bird-cage veil, and in one hand a tight posy of red roses with a Swarovski crystal tucked in each rose.
The wedding ceremony was as easy as the setting with the musical stylings of Touch of Elegance.
The Reception – Intensely Red.
The intimacy of the wedding ceremony continued at the reception with guests seated in a cosy circle at tables that boasted impressive vases of red roses, purple orchids and anthuriums and smaller ones containing tiny posies of plump, red roses with lace table overlays and red retro candy favour bags. Guests enjoyed an impressive buffet with the novelty of a veritable candy table providing mouthfuls of sweet treats ahead of slices of the Rose Lee wedding cake and cups of Blue Mountain coffee. Bartenders at the premium bar were kept busy throughout the night.
The Toasts
With Lindsay’s father Peter in the role of MC the formalities moved comfortably along with family and friends wishing the couple all the best in their new role as husband and wife. The groom closed the formalities with his own passionate declaration of love and an admission that after knowing the bride since 2006, he knew that the time had come for him to “close the deal”.
The couple’s first dance was to Adele’s Make You Feel My Love and they opened the dance floor to Drake’s Best I Ever Had. Guests thereafter partied non-stop.
